SILK

SHIBORI SILK
Shibore is a Japanese technique of dye resist.
The fabric is stitched in various patterns
then dyed, when 'opened' after dyeing
the patterns are revealed.
The different ways of stitching the fabric will dictate the different patterns,
however, due to the hands-on nature of this process, not one piece will be
exactly the same as another, adding uniqueness to its already very
appealing look and texture. The texture will disappear when
the garment is laundered....the pattern stays.

The pink outfit below shows an apron top with a flower motif
over a skirt with a line motif.
This pieces are great for layering but can also be worn 'straight'!

This pink is dyed with natural dye.
