Papoose story continued

November 2006
My second trip to Nepal is completed and a lot
of new products are on the way.

The weather was much clearer this time and
we took one Saturday off to go tripping around.
I (shamefully) forgot the name of this place, but it was a
beuatiful spot with 360 degree views. Although the Himalayas
were in the clouds, every now and then there was a glimps
of snow covered tops.

It is hard to appreciate from a small image, but the serenity
of the surroundings made me understand why visitors
from all over the world come here to walk around!

This really made me laugh: colourful local wares to sample!
Cola, chips, marsbars.....mmmm, very authentic Nepali food.
And just to make you wish you were there too:
the view to the East from the terrace of the house I was staying
in. (Yes, I was doing some stitching 'after hours', much to
the amusement of my co-workers). Every morning
I would make myself a coffee, sit on the terrace and watch
Kathmandu valley come to life. Hundreds of birds would welcome
the day, the sun slowly creeping over the mountains until
the early morning chills had been banished and I could take
off my jumper and enjoy the warmth of the sun.
It is hard work, but someone has to do it!
Pinky Pig is one of our new handpuppet characters.

I can't wait to get back there. I love the tranquility, the warmth
of the people, looking at the mountains (notice the word 'looking'!)
and just 'being' for awhile. Felt is fast becoming an obsession.......
